Somerset Rebels are hoping captain Simon Walker will recover from a rib injury in time for Friday's top-of-the-table meeting with Workington.
The Bristolian missed last week's win over Sheffield after suffering the injury in a fall at Reading.
If Walker is unfit, Jordan Frampton, Stephan Katt and the two reserves, Matthias Kröger and Brent Werner, are eligible to take his rides.
The Rebels lead the Premier League table, while the Comets sit in third.
