Wolves boss Mick McCarthy believes striker Sam Vokes can become a regular first-team player next season.
The Wales Under-21 international joined from relegated Bournemouth last month after scoring 12 goals in 41 games for the Cherries.
Premier League sides including Aston Villa and Newcastle were believed to be monitoring the youngster's progress.
"He'll be a player for us - don't let anyone think because he's 18 he's one for the future," said McCarthy.
"He's a member of the squad now and trying to get in the team".
