Lawrence livid at Fulham defeat

Stoke City midfielder Liam Lawrence admitted he was "gutted" after the Potters were beaten 1-0 at Fulham.

Lawrence, who scored the winner in Stoke's last game against Blackburn, told BBC Radio Stoke: "The contrast from last week is unbelievable.

"I'm really cheesed off that we've not started the game again for 60 minutes.

"We leave it until the last half hour to put loads of pressure on them. It's really disappointing and I'm really unhappy at the minute."

Stoke remain 12th in the table, eight points above the relegation zone with four matches left to play.

The Potters' remaining fixtures are against West Ham, Hull City, Wigan Athletic and Arsenal.

"We need one win to be safe," said Lawrence. "That's why I'm so mad today because it was the perfect chance for us to give those Stokies an early party.

"We'll talk about it on Monday, and hopefully next Saturday against West Ham will be a different story."

Lawrence, 27, has played a part in the last nine matches after recovering from an ankle ligament injury, which he infamously suffered tripping over his pet Labrador.
