Southend defender Damian Scannell will be out of action for at least one month with a leg injury.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Essex club from non-league side Eastleigh in January, has been sidelined after tearing a groin muscle.
Meanwhile, striker Ritchie Foran is to undergo surgery after picking up a knee injury last weekend.
Foran, who has been on loan at League Two Darlington, will now miss the rest of the season.
