Plymouth Argyle have signed Guadeloupe-born defender Stephane Zubar on an initial one-month rolling contract until he gets international clearance.

The 23-year-old, whose brother Ronald plays for Wolves, was on pre-season trial, playing a friendly against QPR.

Plymouth boss Peter Reid said: "He is a right full-back, who can play in a few other positions.

"He's a strong boy and he impressed me in the summer, but we couldn't do the deal then," added Reid.

Zubar played for SC Vaslui in Romania last season, having begun his career with SM Caen in France and has also had spells on loan at Pau FC and FC Brussels.

Meanwhile, Reid has denied newspaper reports that Argyle have made a bid for Rotherham striker Adam Le Fondre.
