Norwich City captain Mark Fotheringham is looking forward to negotiating a new contract at Carrow Road.
The 24-year-old midfielder is one of a number of players who are out of contract at the end of the season.
Fotheringham was made skipper by Glenn Roeder last autumn and has since been pivotal in their Championship survival, and he wants to stay with the club.
"In terms of myself I want to be here, so hopefully they can get it sorted as soon as possible," he said.
Fotheringham signed a one-year contract extension last summer after Peter Grant had signed him from Swiss Super League side FC Aarau on a short-term deal.
Although he is keen to get a new deal sewn up, he knows business will have to wait until the season is over, with their final game at Hillsborough on Sunday.
"I'm just concentrating on Sheffield Wednesday, we need to go there and put on a performance, end the season on a high.
"The fans deserve a win, we lost up there last season and we need to maintain a winning mentality in the squad."
