Northampton Town's John Curtis says team-mate Adebayo Akinfenwa showed courage to score a penalty against Port Vale, having missed his first attempt.
Akinfenwa secured a point for the Cobblers on Saturday, having seen an earlier spot-kick saved.
Curtis told BBC Radio Northampton: "There was no doubt he'd take [the second one]. He's got a lot of courage.
"It's just disappointing we couldn't score the first one. We keep giving people 1-0 head starts."
The 31-year-old Curtis is currently playing in midfield for the Cobblers, having appeared as a full-back earlier in the season.
"The manager likes me in there, and if I can do a job there, I'm happy to do that," he said.
"It's important that all the senior guys help out when Courtney Herbert, Joe Benjamin, Alex Dyer and Paul Rodgers are all new to league football."
