Styles had no hesitation in giving Manchester City their penalty
Newcastle defender Habib Beye has won his appeal against the red card he received in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Monday.
The 31-year-old was sent off by referee Rob Styles for a foul on Robinho in the penalty area but TV replays suggested he had won the ball.
As a result of his claim for wrongful dismissal being upheld, Beye's one-match suspension has been withdrawn.
He is now free to face Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby on Saturday.
After the match Magpies interim boss Joe Kinnear said: "It was hard to call, but like all of us, referees make mistakes. Thankfully TV shows he got the ball.
"He is such an honest kid, the lad who made the tackle. He said to me, 'Gaffer, I swear to God, I got the ball first'.

"When [Styles] has a look and sees it was a fair tackle I hope he will be good enough to adjust the decision that he has made.
"It's a hard thing to do but sometimes it's the truth that comes out.
"It's not the penalty that I'm worried about, it's the suspension, the loss of the player. We're in a position where that's the last thing we need to happen to us," added Kinnear, referring to Newcastle's second-from-bottom position in the Premier League."
Beye was sent off in the 13th minute and Robinho stepped up to score from the spot.

But Newcastle responded positively, equalising through Shola Ameobi and taking the lead through a Richard Dunne own goal before Stephen Ireland earned City a point late on.
The Magpies ended a run of five straight defeats with their 2-2 draw at Everton on 5 October, and against City were good value for a second successive point.
