Grimsby Town have signed striker Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro after he impressed during a spell on trial.
The Frenchman, 23, played for the Mariners in their reserves' 2-1 win over Bradford City on Wednesday.
Boss Mike Newell told the club's website: "He's played around 40 games in the French league and he wants to play in this country."
Akpa Akpro, who has played for Belgian side FC Brussels and Toulouse in France, has signed an 18-month deal.
Newell added: "He had a great attitude [on trial], he had a real go.
"He's got good ability, a bit of pace, good in the air and I certainly think he could be better than this division."
