Forrest has been rewarded for his impressive displays for Celtic this season
James Forrest has signed a new five-year deal with Celtic.
The 19-year-old wide midfielder made his debut for Celtic at the end of last season and his form this term has made him a first-team regular.
Forrest had a contract until 2013 but, having impressed manager Neil Lennon, the club has now extended that to 2016.
The Scotland Under-21 international has scored three goals in the current campaign and was named Scottish Premier young player of the month for August.
Forrest came through the ranks at Celtic and scored against Motherwell in a 4-0 win in May 2010 in his first outing with the top team.
