New Celtic boss Tony Mowbray says he will soon enter contract talks with defender Gary Caldwell.
The 27-year-old, who worked with Mowbray at Hibernian, is contracted to the Glasgow club until next summer.
Caldwell was last term voted player of the year by both the Scottish Football Writers' Association and the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League.
"I will speak to Gary soon about his contract situation - the first chance I get, I will do that," said Mowbray.
"I will talk to him, his advisors and to chief executive Peter Lawwell about it.
"I will see where we are at because I am sure he has been approached before now on a new contract. I assume he has.
"I have not tip-toed into the issue as yet, but I will see what Gary thinks."
Capped 33 times for Scotland, Caldwell played an important role in Celtic's success under previous manager Gordon Strachan.
"He might have huge aspirations to move to the English Premier League, I don't know," added Mowbray.
"I will assess his thinking and see where we go with it."
