Huddersfield made it four away wins on the trot despite Walsall's Jabo Ibehre giving the hosts an early 2-0 lead.
Ibehre burst through the middle of the Huddersfield defence for each of his goals, but Andy Booth halved the deficit with a low half-volley drive.
Walsall keeper Rene Gilmartin should have saved that, but was not at fault when Booth then headed a second goal.
Martin Kelly, on loan from Liverpool, turned quickly to fire the winner, for the first goal of his senior career.
