Cliff Akurang was dismissed for violent conduct on 62 minutes but nine minutes later Nathaniel Knight-Percival headed in to put the visitors ahead.
Daniel Wright missed a golden chance to puyt hstin further ahead and Jamie Barker spurned another superb chance when he missed a penalty.
Droylsden pushed hard for the equaliser, but Histon held on for a hard-fought victory.
