Mohammad Asif was detained in Dubai for possessing opium this year, a Pakistan Cricket Board committee has confirmed.
The Pakistan fast bowler is already awaiting the conclusion of a doping case after a positive nandrolone test in the Indian Premier League in May.
The PCB's Shafqat Naghmi said Asif was held at Dubai airport from 1-19 June with a small amount of opium and eventually deported without charge.
Despite the report being made public, it has still to be handed to the board.
Saleem Altaf, who succeeded Naghmi as the PCB's chief operating officer, refused to confirm the Asif report, but was surprised Naghmi had revealed the information.

"I can't say anything because the inquiry committee never submitted its report to the board," said Altaf.
The inquiry began in July and Naghmi, who heads the PCB's three-man inquiry committee, said the report would be handed over soon.
"There is no doubt Asif violated the board's anti-doping policy by carrying opium and we will recommend that he be banned and fined," added Naghmi.
The appeal hearing into Asif's doping case before an Indian Premier League drugs panel will resume in Mumbai on 29 November.
The 25-year-old tested positive for banned drug nandrolone during the IPL semi-finals in May which led to a ban from national and international cricket.
Asif has played 11 Tests and faces a two-year suspension if found guilty.
