Sussex captain Chris Adams praised his team after they were narrowly beaten by five wickets in the final over of the Twenty20 semi-final against Kent.
Having been bowled out for only 140 Sussex fought back but Rana Naved bowled two no-balls in the last over.
"It was a great game," said Adams. "We had some batsmen error after a great start and I thought we were 20 short.
"I never thought we'd defend 140 but to get as close as we did I give my team a lot of credit."
Sussex openers Chris Nash and Murray Goodwin blasted 59 from the opening five overs but Kent began to claw their way back.
"We lost our way because Kent fielded brilliantly and it was magnifgicent performance from them," Adams said.
"I can't castigate any members of my team I thought we were very brave and tried to play positively and made a great effort to claw it back."
