County Championship D1, Canterbury, day one close: Lancashire 218 v Kent 130-4
Flintoff bowls to Martin van Jaarsveld in Canterbury
|
England captain Andrew Flintoff was out for four but took two wickets and a catch his first day of Championship cricket for Lancashire against Kent.
Flintoff edged South African Tyron Henderson (4-29) behind with a loose drive as Kent bowled Lancs out for 218.
Stuart Law (53) and keeper Gareth Cross (72) put on 82 for the seventh wicket.
But the all-rounder started to make amends when he bowled Rob Key with his first ball then trapped Martin van Jaarsveld lbw as Kent reached 130-4.

After two Twenty20 games, Flintoff must test his left ankle in a four-day match before the second Test, which begins at Old Trafford on 27 July.
His target for the last few weeks has been a Test appearance on his home ground and he trained in the nets at Lord's during the drawn first match of the series against Pakistan.
Flintoff bowled with his customary venom in taking 2-11 in an opening six-over spell that saw him knock Robert Key's off stump out with his very first ball.
He returned late in the day for a further four-over burst to finish with figures of 2-16 from 10 overs, including three maidens.
Flintoff also took a magnificent one-handed slip catch to dismiss David Fulton off the bowling of Glen Chapple, back in action after an abdominal injury that blighted his England one-day call-up.
