Henman receives Madrid wildcard
Tim Henman
Henman has risen to 40th in the world rankings
British number two Tim Henman has been rewarded for his improved form with a wildcard entry into next week's Masters Series tournament in Madrid.

The 32-year-old reached the final of the Japan Open last week, where he lost to Roger Federer, and will be appearing in the Spanish event for a fourth time.

Spain's Carlos Moya is another wildcard and two other berths are available.

Feliciano Lopez, Fabrice Santoro, Thomas Johansson and Juan Ignacio Chela are the candidates for those places.

Unusually, the last two entries will be decided by a poll of readers of Spanish sports daily Marca.

The Madrid Masters begins on Monday, with last year's winner Rafael Nadal and Federer among the 48 entries.
