USA coach Tom Billups has set his sights on a shock World Cup win over Scotland.
The Eagles narrowly lost to Fiji in their opening Pool B game and had a chance to snatch victory with the last kick of the match in Brisbane.
But their 38-year-old coach believes they are still capable of winning their first group game since toppling Japan in 1987.
"This is what we came here for to beat the Scots," said Billups.
"The lineouts are one of the strengths of our game as we can use that as a good attacking platform.
"Our best rugby is right in front of us and I couldn't be more excited about Monday's match."

USA captain Dave Hodges paid tribute to his players after coming within a Mike Hercus kick of beating Fiji.
"No-one in the world of rugby gave us a chance, but we came out with a good
game," said Hodges of the 19-18 loss.
"It was a good effort from all the players. We were very, very disappointed.
"Physically we can match it with anyone," said the veteran backrow forward who played 48 times for Llanelli.
"We more than matched Fiji and the only time we gave our opponents anything to feed off was when we left gaps."
Hodges admits his pack may more problems with the Scots than with the Fijians, however.
"The Scots will employ more diversification at the lineouts than the Fijians, so we will have to be wary of that," he said.
