Highlights as Ulster demolish Portugal in 10-try blitz to win 62-6.

Ulster ran in 10 tries as they defeated Portugal 62-6 in a friendly match at Ravenhill on Thursday night.

Ulster led 27-6 at half-time with tries by Darren Cave (2), Mark McCrea (2) and Timoci Nagusa while Portugal fly-half Pedro Cabal kicked two penalties.

Cave took his haul to four tries with two further touchdowns in the second half, Nagusa scored his second and Neil Hanna and Ian Whitten also scored.

Ian Humphreys and replacement Niall O'Connor both scored three conversions.

Portugal, who are at the start of their long process for 2011 World Cup qualification, were blitzed at the start going behind to three quick-fire unconverted tries by centre Cave, Nagusa and McCrea.

Ulster were pouncing on every mistake by the visitors and both Cave and McCrea waltzed through for their second touchdowns with fly-half Humphreys only managing to land one conversion into the breeze.

Portugal could only offer a couple of solitary penalties by Pedro Cabral with Ulster easily snuffing out any attacking inclinations.

Ulster, however, showed their lethal armory immediately after the break with Cave sprinting in for his third try.

Even with Robbie Diack in the bin, Ulster stretched their lead in the 54th minute with hooker Hanna sliding in at the corner.

It was all one-way traffic at the end with Ian Whitten pouncing on yet another mistake and Nagusa finishing the rout with his second.
