Leicester Tigers forward Craig Newby is free to play in Saturday's Premiership final against Saracens after being cleared of a dangerous tackle.

Newby was reported for a challenge on Butch James in the 15-6 victory in the semi-final against Bath on 9 May.

The back rower appeared before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing panel on Tuesday but it was concluded that no foul play occurred.

Leicester and Saracens will meet at Twickenham to decide the title.

The 30-year-old Newby played three Tests off the bench for the All Blacks between 2004 and 2006.
