Tuilagi has already been punished by his club over the incident

Leicester winger Alesana Tuilagi has had his appeal against a four-week ban for foul play dismissed. It means the Samoan international is suspended until 22 May, ruling him out of the Tigers' Heineken Cup semi-final clash against Cardiff Blues on Sunday. He also misses the Guinness Premiership play-off appointment with Bath six days later, plus the 16 May Premiership final - if Leicester progress that far. But he could play in the Heineken Cup final if Leicester beat the Blues. Tuilagi was cited and then banned after being found guilty of playing Bath full-back Nick Abendanon without the ball during Leicester's Heineken quarter-final victory earlier this month. An independent appeal committee, chaired by Professor Lorne Crerar, found that Tuilagi had not demonstrated the original decision had been in error, or that it should be overturned or varied.
