Hookers Saul Nelson and Neil Clark have been released by Bristol with immediate effect because the club have a surplus of players in that position.
Bristol have three hookers contracted for next season plus Academy player Ryan Prosser to call on.
Head coach Richard Hill said: "It's always tough to part company with a player, especially those who were with us back in the difficult days of 2003.
"They've both been loyal to the cause and played their part in our progress."
Saul joined Bristol in 1999 and went on to make 150 first-team appearances for the club, scoring eight tries.
Neil joined Bristol in the summer of 2003 from Exeter Chiefs and made 62 first-team appearances, scoring six tries.
"They are both good players and good people to have in your squad and everyone at Bristol Rugby would like to thank them for their contribution and wish them well in the future," added Hill.
