Ireland's Stephen Ferris was named man of the match
New Ireland coach Declan Kidney was happy with his first match in charge as the home side ran in eight tries without replay against Canada.
"It was a good day with lot of good things in it. We will enjoy it but will not get carried away," said Kidney.
"We gave Canada a lot of respect in the first half and took the scores when they came out way.
"But there are things we need to look at as we fell away in the third quarter and did not have a lot of intensity."
Kidney sees room for improvement
Back-row forward Stephen Ferris was named man of the match and is hoping he has done enough to earn a place in the team to face New Zealand next weekend.
He said: "I said to myself to go out there and give everything I had.
"I think after 60 minutes I slid off mentally but I had a good day at the office and I will be putting myself forward for next week."
