Launceston went down to only their second defeat of the season at Blackheath, despite leading 19-3 with just 15 minutes left to play. Ryan Westren, Ben Turner and Ed Lewsey had all scored tries for Launceston, the home side's only response coming through a Paul Humphries penalty. But Tyson Lewis and Dan Caprice reduced the gap with converted tries. And Blackheath fly-half Humphries kicked another penalty to ensure the points stayed in London. Launceston drop to fifth in National League One, as the two teams immediately beneath them, Cambridge and London Scottish, both won.
Launceston head coach Jon Hill told BBC Radio Cornwall:
"We were 19-3 up and looked completely dominant in the context of the game with 15 minutes to go and we've managed to commit suicide out there. "We've thrown away the game by letting in a couple of very soft scores with individual errors. "We took some wrong options at various points and that really cost us."
