Daniel Biggar hits the target for the Ospreys against Perpignan
Modest Ospreys teenage fly-half Dan Biggar admitted he was almost quaking in his boots as he kicked them to a Heineken Cup victory over Perpignan.
The 19-year-old's five penalties ensured a 15-9 win for the injury-hit Welsh side against a stiff challenge.
Biggar said: "I didn't know if I looked cool when I was kicking for goal, but I was certainly shaking inside.
"The boys put me in particularly good positions and all I had to do was knock it between the sticks."
Biggar had to guide the team in the absence of back-spasm victim James Hook while Gavin Henson remained on the bench after being recalled early from a two-match ban.
"It was very, very tough," said Biggar. "The intensity was massive compared to a Magners League game and even one in the EDF Cup.
"The pressure's on you every minute of the game. One mistake could cost you and we were nearly done in that respect.
"I was pleased to get a victory for the boys, but I had the easy job so I take no credit for that."
Biggar said of the absence of Hook amid a glut of absentees: "Whoever's in the backline we feel we're comfortable enough to do a job and it showed.
