Wigan's injury-hit second row Gareth Hock has been told that he will be sidelined for a further six weeks.
The 22-year-old played only three matches in the 2005 season because of a knee injury that required surgery.
He saw a specialist this week and was informed that the injury had not healed as well as had been expected.
"It is another blow for the player and for the club," head coach Ian Millward said. "All we can do is give him the time he needs to make a full recovery."
It was hoped that Hock would return for the Under-21s at Castleford on Sunday.
But it is now likely to be mid-May before he makes a competitive return.
