Netherton will wear a shoulder brace for five weeks

Hull KR are hopeful that Jason Netherton will play again this season, despite badly dislocating his shoulder.

The Robins forward was injured in last weekend's 22-20 defeat at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Rovers coach Justin Morgan told BBC Radio Humberside: "He's had a scan and there's no huge amount of damage to the soft tissue which is great news.

"We first feared it could be a 10-month injury, but we are very hopeful Jason will be back playing this season."

Morgan added: "He had a very bad dislocation, his shoulder popped out the back, which is very unusual for the shoulder, and unfortunately we couldn't put it back in place.

"When he went to the hospital they put him under anaesthetic and it popped back in once his muscles relaxed.

"He's in a brace for about five weeks."

Rovers have also been boosted by the news that prop David Mills will be available for Saturday's home game against Castleford after he avoided a suspension at a hearing in Leeds.

Mills was found guilty of a striking charge in Rovers' game against Wakefield but the Rugby Football League decided not to impose a ban.

Morgan agreed with the RFL's decision not to give Mills a ban: "I think justice prevailed in the end, I think it was the right decision and we are very grateful that we will have David available for the weekend."
