Olivier Elima is now Catalans' joint top Super League try scorer this season

Olivier Elima's late try ended Catalans Dragons' run of nine straight Super League defeats as they came from behind to beat Wakefield in Perpignan. Wakefield had an eight-point first-half lead as tries for Matt Blaymire, Damien Blanch and Paul Cooke were replied to by Dimitri Pelo and Sebastian Raguin. Julien Rinaldi stretched the visitors' lead to 22-10 against the bottom club. But Catalans hit back through Clint Greenshields and Setaimata Sa before Elima's try with eight minutes left. Stand-off Thomas Bosc added the last of his five conversions to Elima's fourth Super League try of the season. That gave the Challenge Cup semi-finalists a five-point lead before Bosc then added a crucial penalty three minutes later to crown a great comeback. Wakefield, for whom Paul Cooke landed three conversions and a drop goal, have now won only one of their last nine Super League matches. Last-placed Catalans' first league victory since 27 March lifts them to win four points of 13th-placed Salford.
Catalans coach Kevin Walters: "With Clint Greenshields back, I thought he might just be the little difference that we needed and all the other guys really rallied around him. "I'm very happy. It's only our third win in the league and it's been a long season. "We have set out as a group to get off the bottom of the table of the Super League before the season finishes. "And we want to get some good form so that, come the semi-final, we have something we can fall back on for when times get tough in that match." Wakefield coach John Kear: "We looked okay in the first half, especially at 18-4 - but I thought the try that got them back into the game just before half time was crucial. "Rather than having a 14-point lead, we had an eight-point lead and that helped them psychologically. "In the second half we scored early again and we seemed to play 'dilly-dally' football that allowed them back in it."
