Gateshead Thunder gained promotion to National League One thanks to Sunday's 44-22 win against Blackpool at the International Stadium.
With Oldham beating nearest rivals Barrow at Boundary Park, Thunder did their bit, scoring nine tries to sew up promotion with two games to play.
Centre Kevin Neighbour scored three of the tries, while skipper Dan Russell converted four of the kicks.
Blackpool managed four tries in reply and three conversions.
Promotion marks a stunning turn of events for Thunder, coming after a turbulent period during which they lost their place in Super League and were forced to restructure in the league's bottom tier.

Coach Dave Woods has been a key factor in the club's recent progress. And the former Castleford Tigers coach admitted their season is by no means over yet.
"It's a relief to finally do it," he told the club website. "But we know that we need to find another challenge and that's to win the competition.
"It would be something that would put the icing on the cake, and it's more than deserved for the whole club."
