Tries: Onyango
Wakefield were given a scare before beating Oldham to reach their first Challenge Cup semi-final since 1979.
Lucas Onyango put the Roughyeds ahead after just four minutes and a shock looked on the cards.
But Sean Gleeson got Wakefield back into the game on 22 minutes with the first of his two scores and from then on the home side dominated.
Jamie Rooney (2), Damien Blanch, Oliver Wilkes, Brad Drew, Danny Brough and Tony Martin also went over.
Wakefield coach John Kear: "I thought Oldham came here and really had a good shot at us. I have to compliment them for the way they played. Some of the rugby they played was very good.
"I don't think we respected them enough early on. We made far too many soft
errors and that's a concern.
"The scoreline in Challenge Cup games is irrelevant. We've not played that
well but got the luck of the draw.
"It doesn't matter who we draw, there are four good teams left in a
competition and all you want to do is get it drawn and get out on the field."
Oldham coach Steve Deakin: "For 35 minutes we gave it a great shot.
"Our enthusiasm and effort was outstanding. We've done a great job in frustrating them but in the final outcome they were a bit too big and strong.
"All you can do in life is give it your best shot. Wakefield can put 40 points on anyone and have done in Super League.
"For us to come here and compete as part-time minnows is a great testament to the boys' effort and skill."
