Patrick Wallace is out of the 888.com World Championship after a 10-8 defeat by Englishman Mark Joyce at the qualifying tournament in Prestatyn.

The Dungannon player, a former quarter-finalist at The Crucible, was impressive on Saturday when he eased to a 10-1 win over Sean Storey.

He raced into a 5-1 lead against Joyce and then racked up a 139 break to move 7-3 ahead.

But Joyce fought back and won seven of the next eight frames to progress.
