Patrick joined the Bison from US team Springfield Falcons in the summer
The Basingstoke Bison insist they remain determined to fight on in ice hockey's Elite League after a week in which at least two players departed.
American defenceman Curtiss Patrick and back-up netminder Joe White left the Bison ahead of the weekend's fixtures.
BBC Sport understands Canadian forward Matt Miller is also set to leave, though no announcement has been made.
"It's always sad to see guys go but the Bison must move forward," player-coach Eric Braff told BBC Radio Berkshire.
"It's definitely a morale-buster. Curtiss and Joe were good guys.
"We wish them all the best but hockey goes on and we'll be signing some guys and moving forwards."
Another Canadian forward at Basingstoke, Brent Hughes, admitted it was "tough" to see players leave.
"It's been that way all year," he said. "We've got ten or eleven players, but we've got character in that dressing room."
Miller, 24, is widely believed to have played his last game for the Bison on Sunday, scoring the opening goal in their remarkable 4-1 victory at Elite League giants Coventry.
However, the club have yet to confirm his departure.
