Leicester defender Crista Cullen has rounded off a successful year for club and country by being named Great Britain Hockey Athlete of the Year.
The 21-year-old won the Super Cup and Premier Division and a Cup Winners' Cup bronze medal with Leicester, and a Commonwealth Games bronze with England.
"She maintained a high level of performance for club and country," said GBH performance director David Faulkner
"She's building a strong reputation as one the world's leading defenders."
Cullen was born in England but grew up in Kenya and did not play on astroturf until she was 15.
She won the first of her 50 England caps in 2003 against Scotland and has also been capped seven times for Great Britain.
She was part of the England team which just missed out on a place at the World Cup semi-finals and was selected for the FIH world stars XI.
