Pooley eventually got clear of the rest of the field

Britain's Emma Pooley won the GP de Plouay in France, the latest race in the World Cup series. The Olympic time-trial silver medallist made a solo break with around 46km to go and built up her advantage to claim victory by two minutes and 30 seconds. Nicole Cooke, the Olympic and world road race champion, reduced the deficit to 34 seconds at one point but could not bridge the gap as she came sixth. Marianne Vos finished second to regain the overall lead with one race to go. It was Pooley's second win in the series and the 26-year-old is hoping to add the World Cup title to her Grande Boucle Feminine crown - the women's Tour de France - in June. The final round takes place in Germany in September.
