Gloucester-based hammer thrower Zoe Derham will compete in the Olympics after shattering her personal best.
Derham, 27, threw 68.63m which exceeds the B qualifying standard and means the British number one will travel to Beijing as a discretionary selection.
Coach Lorraine Shaw is delighted there will be a women's hammer representative in China after Derham's selection.
"It's a dream for Zoe, something no-one can take away from her," Shaw told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
"She's thrilled but it's back to the drawing board because she's got some hard work until she travels to Beijing.
"I think she sees it as a reward for a long hard slog but to get selected is good for her confidence and good for hammer throwing."
