Swiss men claim curling bronze
Switzerland claimed two points with the final stone of the game to beat European champions Sweden 5-4 and win Olympic bronze in the men's curling. A quadruple take-out from Niklas Edin ensured Sweden blanked the ninth end to lead 4-3 going into the final round. But a slight error from skip Edin gave the Swiss the opening they needed for a dramatic win against the team who beat them in the Euro Championship final. Switzerland's Ralph Stoeckli held his nerve when it mattered to seal the win. "Finally - we finished fourth twice at the worlds and I told the guys 'I just don't want to leave this place again in fourth place'," he said. "We're all so happy that we finally got that medal." Edin pulled off a breathtaking shot in the ninth end, clearing out four Swiss stones. But the 26-year-old was distraught after allowing Switzerland to pip his side to the bronze. "It's the worst feeling I've ever felt," said Edin. "This game we definitely could have won. We should have had that bronze medal."
