Peterborough Panthers boss Trevor Swales says he is content with changes made to Elite League rules for 2009.
Rule changes have been made following the AGM of the British Speedway Promoters' Association.
Swales told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I think the biggest change is the way the points are going to be allocated for home and away wins.
"I think there are pluses and minuses, but you might get one strong team romp away at the top of the league."
Away sides now have the chance to claim a bonus point should they limit a defeat to within six points.
Other changes include new tactical replacement rules and full two-legged end-of-season play-offs.
Peterborough struggled last season, eventually finishing second from bottom in the table.
Swales was critical of the limited time clubs were given to build there sides last year, and is pleased to see the BSPA increasing team averages as promised.
"39.90 is what we felt we were building to, so hopefully we are further forward this year than last," he said.
Currently the Panthers only have Karol Zabik confirmed in their line-up for next season, but Swales is confident of making a strong start.
"I hope that I'm going to get it right from the start because it can win and lose meetings for you," he said.
"I can already see some grey areas in there and like every other team manager I'll be looking to see where those grey areas are to make the most of them."
