A group of exceptionally talented UK-based riders visited the island last month after showing an interest in competing in TT 2009.
The riders were given VIP treatment including a tour of the famous Mountain Course by rider liaison officers Richard Quayle and John Barton.
Former TT star Quayle told BBC IOM: "To compete around this world famous course is the ultimate for any rider.
"There is some incredible talent showing a real interest in the event."
The riders, all under 30 included British Champions and protagonists from many of the leading domestic championships, were also given advice from TT stars Nick Crowe, Conor Cummins and Gary Johnson.
Quayle added: "Over the last few years riders like Guy (Martin), Steve Plater and James Hillier have made a real impact on the event.
"To attract this amount of genuinely talented riders speaks volumes about the TT and I think 2009 could be a belter."
The rider recruitment programme, which began in 2004, has reaped rewards each year, with 10 first-timers having broken the 120mph barrier.
