Red Bull driver Mark Webber is predicting a close battle at this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Monza, with as many as five teams in contention. The Australian said Ferrari, McLaren, Renault and Force India could all be challenging Red Bull for podium places on a track where long straights require a low downforce package.

Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will not attend Wednesday's World Motor Sport Council hearing in Paris into the alleged use of banned team orders at the German Grand Prix. The Italian team said the pair would be made available by conference call if necessary.

Lotus is close to finalising a switch to Renault engines for next season. But the carmaker is still in talks with current provider Cosworth over ending its contract two years early.

Bridgestone has revealed its tyre allocations for the final four races of the 2010 season. The Japanese supplier will take soft and hard compounds to both the Japanese and the Korean Grands Prix, with the super-soft and medium compounds used in Brazil and Abu Dhabi.
