Coulthard signed a new deal with Red Bull on Tuesday

David Coulthard has hit out at Silverstone's critics ahead of his bid to secure Red Bull's first-ever podium finish in Sunday's British Grand Prix.
The Scot believes the Northamptonshire circuit has been unfairly targeted by some of the sport's leading figures.
"It has looked for several seasons now that they are desperate to get it off the calendar," he said.
"For whatever reason Silverstone seems to have to work harder than the other circuits to keep its Grand Prix."
Coulthard, who signed a new contract with Red Bull on Tuesday, also believes criticism of Silverstone's facilities is unfair.
"Look at Canada's facilities - absolutely terrible but we endure them because we enjoy the track, the city and the whole atmosphere. Canada's facilities are significantly worse than Silverstone," he said.
The former McLaren driver is determined to enjoy his latest chance at home-ground glory but admits his hopes of securing a podium finish are limited.
"It would be incredible if that were to happen. There are a lot of quick teams out there.
"We obviously are not keeping pace with their development but it's not beyond the realms of possibility. We are more likely to get it at a circuit like Monza where reliability is stretched more."
However, Coulthard does not hide the fact that Silverstone is one of his favourite tracks: "I do enjoy Silverstone. It's one of the first race tracks that I went to, and I have a lot of good memories of it."
