Jonty's superb effort

South Africa's fast bowler Makhaya Ntini sends his final postcard from the Caribbean for BBC Sport Online.

The final days of our 10-week tour have arrived and as we now find ourselves on the small yet beautiful island of St Vincent, we also find ourselves thinking of our flight home on Thursday afternoon from Barbados.

Added to that is the thought of how we will spend our day off in London as we pass through waiting for our connecting flight to Johannesburg and for me, home in East London.

My plan in London is to visit Leicester Square for some lunch and then do some last minute shopping at Hamleys for my baby boy at home and some clothes for my friends and family.

It is going to be so good to pick up my little boy and hold him as well as hug my wife Thandeka, both of whom I have not seen for almost three months now.

And so as I reflect on our Caribbean tour, there are many positive and happy memories that I am reminded of.

The two obvious ones being, winning the Test match series in Antigua and the one-day series in Barbados.

But there have also been a few personal milestones on the tour that I've been happy with like getting the wicket of Brian Lara four times.

My worst moment on tour was losing my SA blazer. It was stolen out of my bag on the way from Trinidad to St Vincent.

Excursion

On Monday, about 12 of us hired a large speedboat and we went up the west side of the island exploring all the bays and cliffs and admiring the coastline.

We went as far as the waterfall that empties itself into the sea at the base of La Soufrierre, the active volcano that lies on the northern side of the island.

La Soufrierre was last active in 1979 and spread its ash and lava as far afield as Barbados.

But the last major eruption was in 1902 when lava, molten rock and debris spewed into the sea and it is these interesting rock and lava formations that can be seen from the ocean on the west coast of St Vincent.

On the way back we stopped over for lunch at a quaint little restaurant adjacent to a small wooden pier. It was great to be anchored in this small bay with a few other yachts and step ashore for a burger and some drinks.

Jonty Rhodes
Rhodes was awarded a special shirt
This last one-day game is a special moment for Jonty Rhodes as it is his 200th match for South Africa.

Jonty has been a wonderful ambassador for cricket and his country and it will be an honour and a privilege to be on the field with him.

The team stole one of his playing shirts and had "200" embroided on the shirt just under the SA Cricket logo as a special momento for Jonty.

As for the man of the series award, I think it will come from either of the three following players from our team.

Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs and Shaun Pollock have had fantastic tours and have produced the goods when it was needed most.

To choose any one of these players for the award may be an injustice to the others so as for me, I cannot separate the winner among them.

This is Makhaya Ntini signing off for the last time from the Caribbean for BBC Sport Online.
