Sweden's Carl Pettersson birdies 15 to rejoin US PGA champion David Toms and Duffy Waldorf in the lead at four under.
Carl Pettersson blows his outright lead by bogeying the 18th, slipping back to four under alongside Duffy Waldorf and David Toms. Playing partner Soren Hansen, who had moved up to joint second, also bogeys the last hole to slip back to three under.

Meanwhile, Nick Faldo makes bogey at six to go one over after a wayward tee shot. 1553 US PGA champion David Toms continues to threaten as another birdie putt slips by to stay two under through nine holes. 1545 Colin Montgomerie is perched on the edge of a bunker on seven but plays a brilliant chip to a foot and sinks the putt for par to stay one under. 1523 American Duffy Waldorf holes a 10-foot putt at the last for a 67 and the outright clubhouse lead on four under. 1515 JF Remesy bogies 18 to slip back into the leading pack on three under. 1502 JF Remesy birdies the long 17th to take the outright lead at four under as Duffy Waldorf misses a birdie putt at the same hole to join him. 1442 Ireland's Padraig Harrington completes a round of 69 to trail by one after briefly joining the leaders. But Andrew Coltart slips out of the leading pack after a bogey at 10.
1420 Coltart birdies the ninth to join the leading group as does American Duffy Waldorf. 1415 Former Open champion Greg Norman completes a first-round even par 71. 1345 Defending champion David Duval signs for a one-over-par 72 as playing partner Thomas Bjorn lips out for a birdie to finish on 68 and stay in a five-way share of the lead. 1330 Thomas Bjorn leaks his approach to the long 17th left. He chips on to three feet but lips out and has to settle for a bogey six. 1320 Padraig Harrington birdies 13 to move to two under.
1316 Tiger Woods completes a one-under-par round of 70 to stay in touch with the leaders, and Shigeki Maruyama's fine 68 puts him alongside Justin Rose on three under par. 1315 The massed crowd around the 18th green shows tremendous appreciation as Justin Rose completes a great round of 68. 1312 Thomas Bjorn holds par at the 16th to retain the overall lead. 1259 Thomas Bjorn narrowly misses a birdie chance on the 15th and remains at four under par. At the 17th, Tiger Woods, Shigeki Maruyama and Justin Rose all complete pars after just missing birdie putts.
