Darren Clarke picked up just one birdie in the second round

Darren Clarke suffered a triple-bogey as he slumped to a five-over-par 77 in Friday's second round of the the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur. The Dungannon player, who also had three bogeys and a birdie, slipped to six over for the tournament and missed the halfway cut by five shots. Peter Lawrie stays on three under after a 72 while Gary Murphy is also on his way out after a 79 left him 13 over. The rain-interrupted second round was finished on Saturday. Welshman Rhys Davies held the lead on 10 under after the completion of the second round. Clarke, who started at the 10th, carded eight pars before enduring a nightmare run of holes. He bogeyed the 18th and first, took seven at the par-four second and dropped another shot at the fourth. Clarke posted his only birdie at the fifth.
