Clandeboye's Jonathan Caldwell bowed out of the British Amateur Championship on Thursday morning as Irish hopes in the event came to an end.
Caldwell was beaten 3&2 by American Tom Glissmeyer while Baltray's Simon Ward and Esker Hills' Shane Lowry also lost at Royal Lytham & St Anne's.
Ward lost by two holes against American Drew Weaver while Lowry was edged out at the 19th by England's Gary Boyd.
Holywood teenager Rory McIlroy was beaten in Wednesday's first round.
McIlroy lost to lost 2 and 1 to Rotherham player Daniel Willett.
