West Brom have appointed former player Michael Appleton as the club's new reserve team coach.
He replaces Craig Shakespeare who left to join Leicester City as assistant manager last month.
Appleton will also continue his duties with Albion's Under-18 squad alongside the club's Academy staff.
"We hope by giving the lads coming through a familiar voice to listen to it will provide continuity," said Baggies boss Tony Mowbray.
"He's got strong opinions on the game, is good to work with and I canvas his opinion on my team," Mowbray told the club's website.
Appleton was forced to retire as a player early because of a serious knee injury suffered while with the Hawthorns club in 2001, and quickly made the move into coaching.
"I'm delighted to be made reserves coach and this is a good step up the ladder for me," he said.
"Hopefully I can repay the manager's faith in me."
