Watford defender Adrian Mariappa has praised Martin Taylor, saying he has improved his performances for the side.
Mariappa, 24, is a product of the academy at Vicarage Road and has started every game so far this season.
He told BBC Three Counties Radio: "When I came through there were lots of established defenders and it was hard.
"But now I'm more established, and playing alongside Martin Taylor is great for me and I'm learning all the time from him."
Watford's 1-0 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday meant the Hornets stay fourth in the Championship, and Mariappa praised the side's attitude.
"We picked up some little niggles and had to reshuffle," he said. "But everyone is ready and waiting to come on if need if they're not starting.
"We were under a lot of pressure in the second-half but we did really well to dig in and come away with a clean sheet."
