Former Birmingham and West Brom striker Geoff Horsfield is training with League One Walsall.
Horsfield, 34, is without a club after being released by Sheffield United at the end of last season.
There is no suggestion yet that he is likely to sign for the Saddlers, but defender Rhys Weston says just having him at training is helpful.
"It's good to have another experienced pro around the building to give the boys some support," Weston told BBC WM.
"I've played against Geoff a number of times during my career and he's a tough player to play against.
"Whatever happens here, it'll be a bonus to have him training with us.
"If anything comes of it, he'd be a fantastic addition to the squad, I'm sure."
