Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone has signed a new five-year contract with the White Hart Lane club.
The 21-year-old moved to Spurs from Derby in the summer of 2005 and his contract now runs until 2013.
Huddlestone helped Spurs win the Carling Cup last season and also earned a call-up from the England Under-21 side to the full squad.
Meanwhile, Spurs have also agreed to sign 16-year-old Italian youth keeper Mirko Ranieri from Perugia.
"Mirko is 6ft 2in and an excellent shot-stopper," said Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli.
"His distribution and decision-making is improving all the time.
"He is a highly intelligent individual and another very good young goalkeeper we have attracted to the club."
The moves are the latest by Spurs manager Juande Ramos as he aims to build on winning the Carling Cup after taking over from Martin Jol last October.
The midfielder is known for his powerful shooting and also appears to have benefitted from the new fitness regime Ramos has instilled at the club.
