Swindon Town manager Maurice Malpas may turn to Ghanaian defender Akwasi Oduro after missing out on the signing of Charlie Mulgrew at the weekend.
The 21-year-old left-back is based in Belgium with KSK Beveren, and has been invited to join Swindon's pre-season tour of Austria.
"He's a left-back come left-midfield so we'll see if he's good enough," Malpas told BBC Radio Swindon.
"We've seen a video of him but I've never seen a bad video from an agent."

"The guy's available, keen to come, and sometimes you're lucky your name comes up at the right time. Possibly this is the case," he added.
Swindon are also understood to be in talks with two other players, and chairman Andrew Fitton has urged fans to be patient as they try to bolster the squad.
"Championship and Premier League sides are not willing to let any of their players out on loan until they have been through their pre-season."
"There are players like this that we are monitoring that won't be available until the end of July. There is certainly no panic," he added.
