Pair sign new Potters contracts

Amdy Faye
Faye signed for Stoke ahead of their return to the top flight

Stoke have agreed contract extensions with Senegal international Amdy Faye and academy product Andy Wilkinson.

Midfielder Faye's deal keeps him at the Britannia Stadium until the end of next season, while defender Wilkinson has signed until 2011.

Faye signed from Charlton last summer after impressing on trial.

Manager Tony Pulis said: "Wilko has been smashing for us and we're delighted that Amdy is going to be with us for another season."

He added: "We're pleased to have tied the two of them up to deals."

Faye, 31, has also had spells with Newcastle, Rangers and Portsmouth, as well as French side Auxerre.

Wilkinson helped the Potters to promotion to the top flight last season and has made 12 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.

Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes told the club's website: "Although at this time the attention is on players that we may be bringing in, the players who are at the football club are the most important ones.

"We're delighted to have both Amdy and Andy commit their medium-term futures to the club and sign extensions to their deals."
